Jim Meese is an extremely talented producer, who has worked with a number of decent artists and bands- using
his skills to mold their songs into something beautiful. Meese didn't mind the role of "second fiddle" on all of those
previous works, but finally has released a collection of HIS own music. Jim Meese (the producer), now adds
writer/singer/musician to his credits. Get ready for the welcome sounds of "Listen"--Meese's first solo effort.
Nine tracks with really cool vibes, nine very diverse attitudes--"Listen" has a little something for everyone. You
want it heavy? Check out the punchy groove on "Mother Why?". Acoustic piano reigns supreme on the Elton
John-sounding ballad "Grey In Green". Sort of like Meese's own "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" (which ain't
bad company!) "Poem" is a track that Sade would love to wrap her vocal chords around. "Stone Unturned" takes
you back to the Allman Brothers Band of the early 80's.
Listener-friendly vocals pack the cd from beginning to end. Progressive Rock meets Jazz. Jam tunes meet
ballads. Poppy hooks meet Steely Dan. Sassy saxophone, hypnotic organ riffs, subtle guitar licks, gentle piano
playing... Young Jimmy learned alot from sitting behind the console all those years.
Give "Listen" a listen. It's fine music to ease your mind and free your spirit. In this troubled day and age,
that's ALWAYS a good thing.
